Brisbane Airport: Information for Pick up and Drop off

Brisbane airport has both domestic and international terminals. Both terminals are quite easy to navigate; however, they are configured a little differently. For passengers travelling internationally, the pick up area is on the level 2 arrivals road, in front of the international terminal. The drop off section is on the level 4 departures road, in front of the terminal. For those who require a disability space, there are disabled zones on the level 2 arrivals road. For passengers travelling domestically, there is a pick up and drop off section on the road in front of the terminal. Because of security restrictions, you cannot park here and drivers are only permitted to remain stationary for a short period of time. Passengers must be ready for immediate pick up or drop off. In this area, there are a total of six disabled spaces for those who require them.

The Brisbane airport precinct has world-class facilities, which extends to both the international and domestic terminals. Inside the terminals, passengers have access to free Wi-Fi, dining opportunities, retail options and a free bus to the Skygate complex. Here, you can access more dining, exceptional retail and accommodation. In this area, there are also luggage lockers for passengers who would like to do some exploring.

Other Transport Options

Brisbane Airport to Brisbane City: Other Transport Options

Owing to its size and the number of passengers passing through each day, the Brisbane airport has a wide range of transport options. As well as CitiCar’s leading transfer services, you can also get taxis, trains and buses—just to name a few. However, when it comes pricing and group travel, an airport transfer from CitiCar is the best option.

Brisbane Airport to City: Trains

The Brisbane Airtrain is an express service, with a stop at both the international and domestic terminals. It departs every fifteen minutes, between 5:04 am and 10:04 pm on weekdays, and 6:04 am and 10:04 pm on weekends. Being an express line, the train is an excellent way to avoid traffic congestion. However, it is not a direct service and it only operates at specific times. This means that it is a challenging option for those with heavy luggage or those who live out of the city. On top of this, the AirTrain has a fee of about $15 per person. When travelling in a group of 3 or 4, this equates to a similar price as CitiCar’s limousine services. That means, for the same price, you get private door-to-door service.

Brisbane Airport to City: Taxis

There are taxi ranks located out the front of both the international and domestic terminals. For Brisbane’s domestic airport, you can find the taxi rank centrally in front of the terminal. At the international airport, it is located at the northern end of the arrivals road on level 2.

Taxis are among the most popular means of airport transport. They offer door-to-door service and are generally quicker than public transport, although you may be waiting in line for as long as half an hour. However, taxis are approximately the same price as an airport transfer from CitiCar. In fact, the cheapest taxi fare will likely be no more than 20% cheaper than a CitiCar chauffeured car. CitiCar has a higher standard of cleanliness, more comfortable vehicles and no queue. When you take this into account, airport transfers with CitiCar are far better value for money.

Brisbane Airport to City: Buses

There are several bus services operating between the Brisbane airport and city. These include the 369, the 590 and a number of privately run shuttle services like Con-X-ion. With an abundance of bus lines in operation across Brisbane, it is not hard to get to and from the airport by bus. Although it is the cheapest option, it is also the longest. Buses are subject to traffic delays and they stop frequently to collect other passengers. Shuttle services such as Con-X-ion also only run at certain times. For groups of 2-3, it is often cheaper to book with CitiCar anyway. CitiCar offers comfortable vehicles, including people movers for larger groups. You get door-to-door service from a professional chauffeur, to save on time and add comfort to your journey.

At CitiCar, we adapt our service to meet your transport needs. That means that you can book an airport transfer with CitiCar at any time of the day or night. Our services are 24-hour, which is particularly useful for airport travel. Flights often arrive or depart at unusual hours and this can make finding transport hard. Train services only operate for certain hours, as do bus lines. But with CitiCar, this is not an issue.

Travelling in a large group can sometimes be a logistical challenge. Fortunately, with CitiCar, this needn’t be the case. We have a wide range of vehicles, including luxury people movers. These vehicles have a large seating capacity and can get you and your group to and from the airport in comfort.

At CitiCar, we try to make our airport transfers suitable for all budgets. We have a range of cars to suit a variety of budgets and our services are often more economical than taxis and public transport. With a wide variety of options, we are likely to have the perfect solution for you.
